Course Description:
More than 80% of the US population lives in an urban environment. Within those cities, humans have lost their significance within urban spaces to the need for infrastructures dedicated to vehicular traffic. This session will focus on how the city of Denver – pioneers of the urban pedestrian mall concept – have reimagined the famous 16th Street Mall and the approach to lighting the space to better address the needs of the human inhabitants using the space.
Chad Gleesing Bio:
Chad is a Senior Lighting Sales Specialist at Landscape Forms in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He has rich sales and marketing experience in a variety of service and technical fields, including as owner/instructor/trainer of his own ballroom dance studio. Chad has had the pleasure of working several years as a technical specialists in the outdoor LED lighting industry where he works closely with designers, architects, engineers and landscape architects to provide application based lighting solutions. Chad earned his undergraduate degree and MBA at Spring Arbor University in Michigan and is on the Board of Managers at his local IES chapter.
